As the warmer months are slowly coming back around, a lot of Yorkshire homeowners will be preparing to get back into their gardens. The winter has felt long, and gardens are starting to look tired up and down the region, so why not start early and get your paving slabs cleaned and looking the way you want them, so you can focus solely on your plants when the sunshine finally arrives!

At Mone Bros DIY, we provide a vast range of paving slabs ideally suited to many different gardens. Because of that, we have a lot of experience in cleaning them, and so we thought we would help you along the way. Here’s our top tips on how to clean your paving slabs this spring:

 1)    Clear your garden to ensure that your paving slabs are easily accessible – this is important as you don’t want to damage any garden furniture or plant pots with bleach

2)    Sweep the paving slabs to remove any debris and dirt that has built up over the winter months

3)    Wet the patio slabs with clean, cold water to rinse any further access dirt that may have not been removed

4)    Mix the bleach with water in a watering can- following the safety instructions on the bottle to ensure that you don’t damage yourself or any of your clothes etc.

5)    Use the watering can to apply the bleach/water mix over the wet paving slabs and leave on the slabs for 15 minutes

6)    Rinse off the bleach with clean cold water and brush the surface as you do so

7)    Once everything has dried and you’re happy with how your paving slabs look, put back all of your garden furniture and plant pots!
